This is really a dumb question. In today’s news I read that a drone in Yemen killed some number of Al–Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula members. Similar drones used in Afghanistan (and in Pakistan, to their outrage) generally kill specific numbers of members of known terrorist groups. (The latter is a topic for another post, eh?)
Drones are not sniper bullets, although some of them do carry cartridge-based weapons. However the cases noted above seem to involve large explosions. So now for today’s dumb question:
How magic are these drones? They only kill specific individuals, while being piloted remotely (from halfway around the world, sometimes) to their point of detonation. I have heard of shaped charges, but I don’t think that is what is happening here. Perhaps we have shaped news reporting, eh?
